Transmission line tower are important structures used to support transmission lines and can be categorized into different types based on different designs and uses. There are three kinds of  transmission line tower: angle steel tower, transmission tube tower and monopole, but the electric tower come in a wide variety of styles, the following is a brief introduction to several common types of power pylons:

1.Gantry tower

As the name suggests, two columns to support the conductor and overhead ground line tower, like a big “door”. This tower applicability is relatively large, with a pull line has a good economy, commonly used in double overhead ground and conductor is horizontally arranged, generally used for ≥ 220 kV line, can be used to improve the stability of the tower, the column sometimes with a certain slope.

2.V-shaped tower

Tie line V-shaped tower, door tower special case, shaped like “V”, comes with a “big V certification”, so in the wilderness is very recognizable. It is easy to construct, and the steel consumption is lower than that of the other drawn-wire gated towers, but it occupies a large area, and its use in the river network and large areas of mechanized cultivation is subject to certain limitations. Commonly used in 500 kV lines, in 220 kV also have a small amount of use.

3.T-shaped tower

Tower was “T” type, The T-shaped tower is a crucial component of the power transmission infrastructure, serving as the main DC transmission tower. It is designed with two transmission lines hanging below in a T-shaped configuration, with one side for positive transmission and the other for negative transmission. Upon closer inspection, one can observe two small “corners” on the top of the tower, with one side designated for the ground line and the other for the lightning line. This design ensures the stability and safety of the power transmission system, especially in the event of lightning strikes.
